All participants of the “Youths tour for freedom” organized by the Socialist Youth Union (SYU) on the occasion of the 46th Che Guevara commemoration in their third lap from Mahiyanganaya to Kurunegala participated in an agitation in Kandy yesterday (11th).
The Member of the Central Committee of the JVP and National Organizer of SYU Bimal Rathnayaka addressed the participants of the agitation held demanding solutions for youths’ issues.
He said, “Today everything including education, employment, arts and sports have been politicized. I’ll give you one example. Kandy is a district that excels in rugby. Trinity, College, Vidyartha College and Dharmaraja College are institutions that produced distinguished rugby players to the country. Where are those distinguished players brought forth by these institutions now?
We have a President in our country. His sons play rugby. Incidentally, the Rajapaksa family suffers from a psychosis that all matches they play should be won by hook or by crook. There hasn’t been any other shameless leader in Sri Lanka that has made sports politicized. We can remember about an year ago a player was shot at in the playground during a rugby match. We would like to know whether an investigation was carried out regarding this incident.
Also, a player was made to disappear before a rugby match played between the Air Force and the Navy. He was one of the best players in the Air Force team. Matches have been won after abducting players. Is manipulating ballot boxes to win elections a difficult task for a President who wins rugby matches by abducting players?
What does President Mahinda Rajapaksa do when the Socialist Youth Union goes round the country raising the red flag of Comrade Che Guevara? The President goes round the country with imperialists’ CHOGM!

This is why news websites and media Institutions are torched in SL. At present , even after committing arson , causing destruction to media Institutions and banning websites by despots and dictators , the latter can continue through the face book . This constitutes a lethal poison to the dictators and despots. Our own beleaguered despot has therefore given out signals at a function at Panadura Balika Vidyalaya yesterday , that the face book should be banned. To the dictator the face book that is a source of delight to the people is a source of horror and a cause of fear .
The President had said at the function , ‘face book is a venomous disease to us . We can ban it if we want.There are methods for that. Don’t have faith in the face book. Have faith in the deity who you see and follow. ’
It is very unfortunate that the President who occupies the highest position in the hierarchy of the country had got all his priorities and perspectives mixed up so mush so that he had given the wrong advice to these growing children : Deities are invisible. Hence instead of telling them to believe in what they see and not in what they do not see , had told the very opposite of it .
Every dictator from Hitler downwards has had this streak of oppression and suppression because of the innate evil power obsession and demonic killer instincts in them. It is therefore not strange for a despot to give such advice for , in the case of a dictator, killing is his favorite hobby, lying is his undying habit, oppression of the people is an ineradicable addiction.
