In a country where the public relations Minister is demanding ‘extortion money'- is there a Govt. or anarchy?

(Lanka-e-News -18.Dec.2011, 11.55PM) The Minister of public relations Mervyn Silva of the Rajapakse regime clearly demonstrated that in Sri Lanka now , there does not exist a Govt. but it is anarchy that is prevailing when he confirmed that he is a Minister who is an extortionist committing this crime openly and with impunity, because the victims have no one to go to and get their woes redressed under this regime... In early times , extortionists were ‘ chandiyas' ( underworld leaders). When a chandiya committed extortion , there was a possibility to at least complain . But now to whom can the victim complain when the Minister of the Govt. is himself indulging in this crime .? It is unavailing complaining to the Kelaniya temple prelate , because he too is tying pirith (blessed ) twine on Mervyn the extortionist.

Mervyn the vermin , as he is appropriately termed has become a tremendous pestilence to the Kiribathgoda traders , for he is collecting extortion money from them as though those business places belong to his parents. His rates of extortion monthly are : Rs. 15000/- from each shop and Rs. 20,000/- from each liquor Bar. Mervyn the Vermin has appointed Oman a bar owner for the collections. The extortion monies collected are credited to the personal account of ‘Singapore Sarath' alias Sarath Edirisinghe. If these extortion monies are not paid , the traders are forced to close their business places. Hereunder is one such instance of the many extortion closures …..….

Vasana Bakery situated on the right side at the turn to Eriyawetiyawa Road , Kiribathgoda is a lucrative business concern . Oman and ‘Singapore Sarath ‘ two henchmen of Minister Mervyn the notorious vermin have arrived at the crowded Bakery frightening the Bakery workers , and have stated that their ‘boss' Mervyn the vermin will be going to the Traders Association , and demanded extortion money. These two Mervyn the vermin's henchmen had yelled out ‘ where is the owner ?'. When the owner had appeared they have shouted at him ‘ a sum of Rs. 20,000/- shall be paid monthly to the Traders Association' , and if he doesn't , he must close the business. When the owner had said , he cannot pay that amount of extortion money , these marauding henchmen had forced the owner and the workers to get out from the premises , assaulted the owner and closed the Bakery by padlocking it.

The owner is in dire despair , not knowing where to go to explain his grievance and get redress , for his complaint to the police is unavailing.

Finally , as the Bakery owner was subject to endless threats , he had agreed to pay Rs.15,000/- as extortion money and re opened his business . This was because he is in a country where a victim of a crime has nowhere to go to and secure redress. The police cannot help , and the Govt. too cannot help as the Govt.'s own Minister is committing the crime of extortion. Mind you , this is just one of the instances of the countless extortions that are being committed in Kelaniya. All these extortion collections are credited to the account of ‘Singapore Sarath'. Mervyn the vermin who is collecting millions of rupees via this modus operandi gives a share to Singapore Sarath who had been in jail on a murder charge.

When a prominent person from Kelaniya had asked from the President as to why he is turning a blind eye to Mervyn's crimes committed outrageously , the SL President who came to power on a people's mandate to serve them lawfully and ensure all people obey the law including himself and his hooligan Ministers has given a most outrageous answer, ‘ I have allowed him to make some money'. Isn't Sri Lanka a ‘blessed' country with such a unique President at the helm and a unique Minister as Mervyn ?

So , let us live also live as unique residents in Kelaniya who tolerate such a unique regime.

Whither SL and laws ! 21 UPFA local body members take refuge in Chairman's residence fearing Gota's white Van!

(Lanka-e-News-30.Dec.2011,11.30PM) 21 UPFA members of the Local body of Kelaniya and the Municipal council of Peliyagoda have assembled at the house of the Chairman of the Kelaniya polka body in fear of their lives, according to reports reaching Lanka e news.

It is with regret that it has to be reported that these members are those who are fated to be victims of the notorious white Van abductions under the despotic law enforcement in the country. Of these 21 members, 15 are of the Kelaniya local Govt. body and the other six are of the Municipal Council, Kiribathgoda. Intriguingly , every one of them is a supporter of the most notorious Minister Mervyn the vermin, and the white Van is trailing behind most of these members , it is learnt.

Following the mystery surrounded murder recently of Minuwangoda local body member Dinesh Chandrasiri , this group of UPFA members are living in fear .

The members of the group are scared to go out alone. Yesterday , when seven of them were traveling together in a Van to pump fuel for the vehicle at Somapala filling station , a white van suspected to be loaded with army in civil clothes and with weapons had tried to cross the path of the vehicle of the members , but , these members have managed to make a narrow escape in their vehicle.

It is interesting to note that Amal Rodrigo, the co ordinating Secretary of Minister Mervyn Silva was abducted a few days ago at PitaKotte . Although it was reported that he was released a few hours later , he had been detained at an unknown destination for 8 days and interrogated. These UPFA members who are now in fear of their lives say they are frightened that the detainee could have given their names and places of abode .

When Mervyn Silva who has left for Dubai had been communicated over the phone on these events, he had advised in his characteristic hooligan style' get hold of those fellows who come in the white Van , and thrash them'. The UPFA members of the councils have then inquired , how is it possible to attack the armed group? When attempts were made to inform Basil Rajapakse , they had been told he is abroad.

These members who are gripped by fear claim that they have not committed any wrong , and if they have , to bring them before the laws of the country legally , and they are prepared at any time to submit to the rule of law. These members who are in fear that they may also fall victim like the Minuwangoda member who was abducted and died mysteriously , have assembled at the Kelaniya Local body Chairman's house.

‘Rotter' Dr. Mervyn's Kelaniya empire which collected Rs. 6000 lakhs extortion money trembles at its foundation

Earlier the ‘sub power' operating under kudu (drug) Duminda alias Duminda Silva began to collapse following the shooting and injuring of Duminda . Now, another ‘sub power' run by kudu cum extortion Kingpin (Dr.) ‘Rotter' Mervyn Silva has similarly fallen into deep despair. These political scoundrels including (Dr.) ‘Rotter' Mervyn the vermin are subject to the bitter abhorrence of the public currently.

This disaster had struck them because H .E. , Gota and Basil , the ‘mango friends' (keechas) of these kudu and extortionist MPs ,have after using them and their criminal groups to accomplish all their sordid and illegal tasks deserted these MPs, and are arranging for the notorious white Van to trail behind the groups of the MPs. The recent mysterious premeditated murder of the Minuwangoda local body chairman has had a great impact on this sudden change of ‘climate' among these partners in crimes. The H E , Gota and Basil ‘keechas' have apparently let down these leeches after getting together with them and bleeding this country of everything good it stood for all these centuries.

It has now come to light that these Kelaniya local body members and other political stooges after having come to Kelaniya had teamed up with (Dr.) Rotter Mervyn Silva , and collected Rs. 6000 lakhs as extortion monies from the innocent public via ‘chandiyas' (hooligans) . Since the closest associates of Rotter Mervyn are mostly thugs , hooligans and extortionists , collecting these monies was the simplest task ever in his ‘political career' (the only task he did well in his political career) to Mervyn the notorious Vermin. On the 15th of December last year , Mervyn had collected Rs. 25 lakhs as extortion money from Kiribathgoda Thilakawardena Mudalali alone under the pretext of spending for the Kelaniya Devale perahera.

It is not out of context if we recall that Amila Rodrigo , a co ordinating Secretary of Mervyn who was latter's extortion money collector was abducted by Mervyn's hitherto ‘ keecha' (mango friend) Gota via latter's white Van recently , and later released .. When the white Van began trailing after the other accomplices in the crimes of Mervyn , latter scooted to Dubai.

These are a sequel to the bitter hostilities that have triggered between Mervyn and Gota, erstwhile bosom pals., sources say.

When Mervyn returned to the Island yesterday (3), the whole of Kelaniya and Peliyagoda were awash with posters against Mervyn yesterday when he returned to his ‘fortress' . The posters carried slogans ‘you members of local bodies who served as kittens for Mervyn's ‘dog shows ‘ , at least now try to become cubs of lions'; ‘ for the deadly curse this rotter (Dr) had plunged Kelaniya into , are Kelaniya businessmen, public and Councils responsible?' It was very evident that these posters had been pasted by those who had been working for Mervyn hitherto..

Rotter Mervyn the vermin after seeing these posters and realizing that all those members of local Councils whom he used for his worst atrocities have turned against him had got severely frightened. He had then met two of his co ordinating Secretaries , ‘Singapore Sarath' and ‘Booru Thilak' whom he had been co ordinating with in his kappam - extortion collections , and requested them ,‘ you all accept that the extortion monies of Rs. 6000 lakhs that were collected so far were appropriated by you two'. Booru (gambling) Thilak , the bosom pal of Rotter Mervyn runs gambling dens for the high class gamblers . Anyone who wishes to enter the gambling den that is run in his house has to pay Rs. one lakh initially .

Mervyn the vermin collects extortion monies even from the poor vegetable vendors at the daily polas in Kelaniya . Each vendor must pay kappam (extortion money) ranging from Rs.250/-, 350/- and 450/ =- per day to Mevyn. In addition ,a bag of fresh vegetables and fruits weighing 5 kilos should be sent to Mervyn's home daily. Pennela kola ( an aphrodisiac herb) must be mandatorily sent with that supply. It is Booru Thilak who is assigned this duty performed daily as a routine.

No matter what , the local body members including the Chairman who are presently disappointed with Mervyn , have taken a decision. From today , they have made arrangements to stop the extortion payments , and that every trader shall pay the Rs. 100/- due to the local body and obtain a receipt.
