DIG Vaas Gunawardena had taken Rs. 30 lakhs to murder businessman Shyam: DIG’s hired assassins confess to 9 such murders

(Lanka-e-News-01.June.2013.11.55PM) Two suspects who had been taken into custody in connection with the murder of a businessman M H H M Shyam of Bambalapitiya who was abducted on the 22nd and murdered had made confessions during the investigations by the CCD that they are hired assassins of DIG Vaas Gunawardena who after taking many lakhs of rupees carries out these abduction and murder contracts .

It has come to light that Vaas Gunawardena the contract murderer is responsible for 9 such gruesome murders. According to information gathered by the Lanka e news inside information division , it is as follows :

On the 22nd of May , the millionaire footwear businessman went missing. The victim who went out of the house that night had not returned home. On the following day (23) , his body was found by the police with gunshot injuries to his head and chest in a place in the Dompe police division. On the same day , the Mirihana police had taken into custody his vehicle that was left abandoned in the Mirihana police division . Intriguingly , though Shyam’s family had reported this disappearance to the police , despite Shyam’s body being found by the police on the 23rd , his family had not been informed until day before yesterday , 30th . In other words, for a week the police had not intimated that the body had been found. The body of Shyam had been in the Gampaha mortuary for 7 long days !

30th , the relatives have identified the body. The police had also made an egregious blunder deliberately or otherwise , because , when reporting to the media daily on several occasions had not mentioned therein about the murder or that an unidentified body had been found in Dompe or about the abandoned vehicle in Mirihana. This is a wicked wonder ! Should n’t the police in such an abduction (and murder) inform the public via the media immediately and invite the public assistance to identify the deceased? Wasn’t it because the police had the need to suppress the crime that it did not take this action ?

Meanwhile the relatives of Shyam had been searching for Shyam most frantically . They had also spent large sums of money towards the search.

Following their search they had discovered that Shyam was last seen going with a business friend of his, based on a CCTV camera recording of a neighboring shop. After this information was passed to the police , the latter was unable to neglect or suppress the investigation. Though the friend who was associated with Shyam for 8 years also joined in the search, the relatives began to harbor suspicions on him. After the friend was arrested, two more suspects were taken into custody. These two suspects are underworld criminal murderers , and they were taken into custody by a CCD officer.

When the two underworld criminals and Shyam’s friend made confessions , the CCD officer was shocked beyond belief.

Shyam’s friend had confessed that he had given Rs. 30 lakhs to DIG Vaas Gunawardena to murder Shyam. The other two suspects had confessed that they are hired assassins of Vaas Gunawardena, and he had paid Rs. Three lakhs to each of them to abduct and kill Shyam . In the confession these two underworld criminals had stated that they have done 9 murders on such contracts. One such contract is the Majestic Praba murder . Another contract murder was when Vaas Gunawardena was the SSP Galle : a Galle businessman was killed in public on the main road by amputating his both hands. Thereafter , the four individuals suspected in that murder were killed while blindfolded near the Poddala Mahason culvert .

The two contract murderers of Vaas Gunawardena had admitted in the confession that it is they had who killed those four individuals. The weapons they used to commit these murders had been supplied by Vaas Gunawardena. These are weapons that are used by the police, and for every murder they had been paid Rs. Two to three lakhs each.

Even as these confessions were made there had been intense pressures brought to bear on the investigating officers so much so that this investigation is in the process of being suppressed.

Vaas Gunawaradena was a former Director of the CCD. It is the notorious DIG Anura Senanayake who is in charge of it now. In the circumstances attempts are being made to conceal the confessions , and orders had gone out not to make any record of these confessions.

The police chiefs who did not even give publicity via the media that Shyam’s body was found are now through their own media coolies seeking to conceal the hired assassins of Vaas Gunawardena from the ghastly murder , while only revealing Shyam’s friend .

Vaas Gunawardena who was responsible for the murder of the four suspects near the Galle Mahason culvert and earned plus points from Gotabaya came to Kahawatte to trail the suspects in the Kahawatte women murder. After planning the release of the suspects in this murder who were in remand custody , he abducted and murdered them.. Vaas who got promotions over and above others thereby , and became a DIG is now employing hired assassins to abduct and kill wealthy businessmen with impunity after taking huge sums of monies as kickbacks from the enemies of the businessmen.

In the face of these stark revelations , Vaas Gunawardena ought to be taken into custody immediately on the confessions made by the businessman’s friend and the two hired assassins of Vaas Gunawardena. This whole truth behind this murder after huge cash payments collected by Vaas is now known to the IGP and a number of high rung police officers. When a high ranking police officer who was a Director of the CCD is himself involved in contract murders , surely the defense secretary of a country cannot claim that he is not aware, unless he is a party to it or he is so stupid and inefficient as not to know.

Criminal Vaas has 3 houses in New Zealand bought out of blood money; son flaunts wealth amassed via crimes

(Lanka-e-News-16.June.2013, 4.00PM) Contract murderer and extortionist DIG Andra Vaas Patabendi Ganendra Gunawardena alias Vaas Gunawardena has amassed many millions of rupees for the last two years via contract murders , and has remitted these monies to his two sons in New Zealand , according to reports reaching Lanka e news. The account of Vaas is in the B N Z Bank in New Zealand , and he has purchased three houses in that country.

Out of these blood monies he had bought two houses , one for each of his two sons Ravindhu and Hasindu and the third is in the name of his wife , Sharmalie Perera. He has also a large villa in Amabalangoda which he had forcibly plundered from a relative of his. That house alone is worth about Rs.10 million.

Out of the blood monies accumulated by their father who has been killing innocents , the sons in New Zealand are wallowing in obscene opulence enjoying super luxury lifestyles , both have bought super luxury vehicles. Both of them are supposedly millionaire businessmen running riot gone crazy on so much blood money . The elder son shuttles between New Zealand and Sri Lanka , and has fiscal control over the Father’s blood money .

In the murder of Shyam , the millionaire businessman of Bambalapitiya , it is recorded in the statement of Koralage who is in custody , that Ravindhu also boarded the vehicle along with the constable who were among those directly responsible for the murder , yet Ravindhu had still not been taken into custody. It is significant to note that when everything was in the ready to take into custody , Vaas’ wife and son Ravindhu after seizing their three accounts in the local banks , yet , following orders from notorious Gotabaya , the SL defense Secretary alias criminal offence Secretary, all those moves had to be halted.

How Vaas killed his wife’s paramour –better IGP wears regime’s loin cloth however stinking

(Lanka-e-News-14.July.2013.11.30PM) Following the exposure by Lanka e news on the 17 th of June regarding how DIG Vaas Gunawardena shot to death the paramour of his wife after abducting him , more secrets of the murder had surfaced.

The paramour was a police constable who was serving under Vaas. Since the IGP is pretending he is not aware regarding this murder , the other police officers within the force are thoroughly disillusioned as it is one of their own colleagues who is the victim of this brutal murder.

The inside information division of Lanka e news has been able to unearth the following information :

It is during the period from 2010 until 2012 , when Vaas was SSP at Kurunegala this murder had been committed by him. The real name of the victim is P. A. Dharmawardena (PC 61975) who was serving in the special security unit. The other police officers who served in the same security unit of Vaas is Indika Lakmini Bamunusinghe Sub Inspector, Sarath Priyantha (PC 67656) and Gamini Sanathchandra (PC 51798) who are now in custody , while Kelum Rangana Dissanayake also served in the same unit, but is not in custody.

Shyamalie Perera wife of Vaas who was carrying on an illicit affair with the cop P A Dharmawardena had even gone with her paramour brazenly to the 25 acre Naramballa coconut estate of Vaas in Wariyapola and had enjoyed herself for two days secretly but thoroughly with this constable. Unfortunately , this was caught red handed by Vaas’ elder son , Ravindu Gunawardena who had assaulted the constable, and immediately rushed to meet his father to complain about this. When the paramour did not report to work thereafter, Vaas had over this incident tried to commit suicide by consuming mosquito coil. Vaas after recovering had searched for his wife’s paramour without revealing his fury. The permanent address of the paramour constable as registered with the police is No. 77 , Ihalawatte , Levangama , Ruwanwella . Though a team was sent to his address , the paramour had not been there.

This PC is a bachelor , and in that house only his mother lived , while his father was dead. He had a sister who was married and she lived in a different area. After learning that the constable without reporting to work is living with his uncle residing in Peliyagoda , Vaas dispatched Bamunusinghe IP , Wariyapola police crime division OIC Ruwan Ranasinghe SI, Sarath Priyantha PC 67656 and Gamini Sanath Chandra PC 51798 to somehow induce and fetch Dharmawardena PC

When the team reached Dharmawardena’s uncle’s house , they were able to find the former and coax him to come to Vaas’ official house at Kurunegala. Ruwan Ranasinghe had been driving the vehicle which took Dharmawardena to Vaas. Dharmawardena was wearing a blue and white striped Tee shirt when the vehicle of the team taking him was turning the vehicle into Vaas’ official house. This had been noticed by the police security post officers. There is evidence testifying to this. Dharmawardena wearing this Tee shirt was seated next to Gamini Sanathchandra . The witness speaking to Lanka e news inside information division said , Dharmawardena was last seen by the officers of the security post and thereafter he went missing.

Every police officer has a service register or SR which identifies him. After some days , Vaas has got down the SR of Dharmawardena and had sent a message to the Director that Dharmwardena is being transferred to the Judiciary Security Division (JSD) . But so far Dharmawardena has not been found , and the JSD says , Dharmawardena never reported to work. Vaas on the other hand had said, he is not in Kurunegala , and he went to Colombo to report to the JDS. On 25 th November 2011, a V .O. P.(vacated of police) notice was issued that Dharmawardena had deserted his police duty.

Once again , thereafter , Vaas had ordered the Kurunegala headquarters IP to bring all the files including the service file of Dharmawardena , and Vaas himself had recorded in his own handwriting that Dharmawardena be given the VOP which action was absolutely illegal even officially. Such a recording can only be made by the division that granted the VOP and not by any other division.

Such a minute can be made in the file of Dharmawardena only by the SD and not by Kurunegala SSP Vaas Gunawardena. The most serious lapse and atrocious part of this illegal act is ,before making such a record that this individual had deserted the services ,is the failure to intimate that this individual had not reported to work or he had gone missing to his mother , (guardian) living in Ruwanwella. Why was this not done?

Vaas who is not only a brutal murderer but also a crafty wolf had used his cunning to spread the story that his wife’s paramour was having an affair with another woman and had eloped with her to another area. Vaas had also been sending his sinister henchmen on and off to the homes of Dharmawardena’s mother and his sister, and related this concocted story to them , while also telling them ,’it is alright his eloping , but tell him if you meet that Vaas wants him to report to work’. This story was spread among Dharmawardena’s relatives too.

The security division Director too was deceived via this story.

Based on the statement made to the CID by Indika Lakmini Bamunusinghe SI who is now in custody , after Dharmawardena was taken to the official residence of Vaas , he was killed by Vaas himself by shooting him in his head . Subsequently Bamunusinghe and the group had taken the body and destroyed it. Indeed Bamunusinghe in his confession had revealed even the place where Dharmawardena’s body was dumped.

It is a most pertinent and vexatious question , when investigations are not conducted into the murder by Vaas of his own fellow officer of the police department (Shyam’s murder by Vaas apart) , will investigations be instituted against Vaas against the other murders of innocents committed by him? Is the IGP not going to hold himself answerable to the life of a police constable who was murdered while being in the police service under him ?

If this IGP is there only to do the sordid biddings of the regime and is just a dog wagging its tail before them , and not honestly discharging his duties towards the public , it will be better he removes his uniform and borrows or better robs the stinking loin cloth of the ‘regime’ and wears it unmindful of the stench in which event the public will tolerate him as they would know the stench is not his but that of the regime.

Two businessmen who gave Rs. 50 and 30 lakhs to DIG Vaas Gunawardena for contract killings in custody

(Lanka-e-News -04.June.2013,10.30PM) Two millionaires who were taken into custody by the CID have revealed more information about DIG Vaas Gunawardena who after collecting many millions of rupees does abductions and killings on contracts. The two businessmen had been arrested on the 2nd. One of the millionaire businessmen is Krishantha Wejeraj Koralage a casino owner to whom the Government has given approval for the sea plane project.

This casino millionaire has given Rs. 5 million to Vaas Gunawardena to abduct and kill a Sinhala businessman who is angry with the casino millionaire. This casino millionaire businessman had made a confession that he indeed gave Rs. 5 milllion to Vaas Gunawardena.

The other millionaire businessman who had been taken into custody is a Muslim whose name is Mohomed Fowradeen. The latter is the one who gave the contract to Vaas Gunawardena to abduct Bambalapitiya Shyam and murder him. Vaas Gunawardena had collected Rs. 3 million from this businessman Fowradeen to carry out the contract killing. Fowradeen had made a confession that he paid Rs. 3 million to the DIG in respect of that contract.

The two underworld criminals who Vaas Gunawardena employed to do these killings were arrested previously. To facilitate this contract killing , some police officers who are very close to him had also been supported to the underworld criminals . Although the names of these police officers had been revealed by the two underworld criminals , they have still not been arrested. This group of police officers are working under Vaas Gunawardena.

As is always the case with the Medamulana lawless regime, this DIG is still enjoying immunity from the law enforcement process. He is Scott free even after all these glaring evidence arrayed against him. While all these facts are being exposed , senior DIG Anura Senanayake has turned dumb drinking bitter concoctions. DIG Vaas Gunawardena the contract murderer summoned to CID for questioning

(Lanka-e-News-05.June.2013, 11.45PM) DIG Vaas Gunawardena who had been implicated in contract murders after abducting the victims , and against whom two parties have given evidence had been summoned to the CID on IGP 's special instructions according to Lanka e news inside information division. The DIG who is enjoying the patronage of the devil incarnate defense Secretary Gotabaya and therefore immunity from law enforcement has finally been summoned by the CID. The interrogation is being conducted by Shani Abeysekera , the ASP who is in charge of the investigation.

Rajapakse miracle in the making ! police higher ups contribute via murders and extortions : Hotel project and swelling bank accounts out of blood money

(Lanka-e-News-13.June.2013, 7.00PM) In the on going investigations into the most ruthless abductions and gory murders committed for blood money amounting to many millions of rupees on the instructions of the notorious defense secretary, Gotabaya and on the plans of the DIG Vaas Gunawardena who is now in the custody of the CID , it has come to light that another police higher up , C E Wedisinghe SP of Kelaniya division had also aided and abetted the criminal police and political bigwigs.

On the day Bambalapitiya millionaire businessman , Mohomed Muzamdeen Mohomed Shyam was abducted ( before he was killed) , he had been taken to the top floor of the western north division DIG’s office in Peliyagoda in the night . DIG Vaas and SP Wedisinghe had arrived there at about 1.30 a.m. (night) to arrange the collection of cash amounting to Rs. 20 million that was in the account of the victim. The telephone call exchanges between the two police officers which had been recorded at the Towers of Dialog and Mobitel have also been uncovered during the investigations. In addition, the investigations are also being focused on a Colombo police crime division OIC who has allegedly extended support to Vaas’ murders and crimes.

Rs. 327 lakhs of rupees in Vaas Gunawardena’s account ; over Rs. 50 lakhs in his legally married wife’s account and a further over Rs. 50 lakhs in his son’s account had been discovered until yesterday. His wife and his son ought to be questioned in this connection.

It has also been revealed that Wedisinghe SP who was in close association with Vaas for some time , had been extorting from businessmen in millions after intimidating and frightening them .

The modus operandi had been : Bamunusinghe SI who is now in custody speaks to the businessman first and frightens them , then Wedisinghe SP talks to the businessman and assures he would ‘shape it’ with the DIG and collects Rs. 10 to 20 lakhs from each. Bamunusinghe had in his confession disclosed these facts.

Out of the extortion monies collected this long , Bamunusinghe SP is constructing a super luxury Hotel comprising 19 rooms at Ranminithenna , Kataragama . He had already spent over Rs. 20 million towards it , Whether this forms part of government’s development project is yet to be probed . Only Gotabaya will know.

The Kataragama local body had made a complaint that this hotel is being constructed on a government land after forcibly taking possession of it. The local body had complained that illegal sand excavations are being carried out for this construction and police officers are also being unlawfully used after making them desert their official legitimate duties. Despite these complaints the authorities have turned a deaf ear to them.

It is significant to note that the underworld criminal leader , 'Kotte Nishantha' alias 'Chakku' who was used by Vaas Gunawardena for extortion activities has still not been arrested. Vaas who is now in custody is to be produced before court tomorrow to extend the detention order .

SP Wedisinghe to whom Chakku was introduced is an owner of a brothel under the name of Beach Resort at Wadduwa which is being run in an ancient house .Apart from the fees charged for supplying harlots , an additional fee of Rs. 1000/- per room is levied. Though the residents have lodged complaints with the police, and SP Roshan Fernando of Kalutara division had been assigned the task of investigating this, he is ignoring it because Roshan Fernando is submissive to the affluence of Wedisinghe.

Bamunusinghe had in his confession stated the above and added , as an SI he has drinks with Wedisinghe often.

SS P Wedisinghe has been aware of the murders , yet he had suppressed them , which is a serious offence . However no legal action had been taken against him. Though there had been four complaints lodged with the police special investigation unit , against Wedisinghe’s extortions and corruption , due to the pressures exerted by Vaas Gunawardena these complaints have been put aside .

DIG Vaas the pampered criminal is top dog among prisoners: laptop and internet facilities for him -Shyam’s phone found in Maligawatte canal

(Lanka-e-News-24.June.24,11.30PM) The CID and the Navy conducted a search in the Maligawatte garbage canal yesterday(23) for the mobile phone belonging to businessman Shyam which was with him at the time he was abducted and murdered by DIG Vaas Gunawardena .

Based on the confessions made by the accomplices of Vaas that the mobile phones of Shyam and the victims of four other murders were thrown into the Maligawatte and Kimbulawala canals , this search was conducted .

In the last evening , the latest mobile phone used by Shyam had been retrieved . The phone had been destroyed and thrown into the canal. Photograph depicts the scene of discovery of Shyam’s phone.

DIG Vass Gunawradena’s wife, Shyamali Priyadharshani Perera says she would reveal details of several well known murders that have been committed so far, if her husband is remanded further and attempts are made to arrest her and the son.
She has made this comment when a journalist of a national newspaper had questioned her about the rumor of an attempt to arrest her and the son following the arrest of DIG Vass Gunawardena for his alleged involvement in the murder of businessman Mohomad Shyam. Vass Gunawardena has been remanded by court till June 25th.
Mrs. Gunawardena has said that he husband as worked against his conscience in the past few months in order to safeguard heads of the government and heads of the country’s defence establishment. She has observed that she would reveal details of some high profile murders and a well known gold racket if her husband is continuously harassed in this manner.
It is learnt that Vass Gunawardena’s arrest had been linked to a gold racket that involved the First Lady. The President has asked the intelligence units to inquire as to how the Janarala newspaper, which first exposed the story, had received the information.
Although the Janarala press was raided and the editor of the newspaper, Chandana Sirimalwatte was interrogated, the source of the story could not be uncovered. Two websites that published the story was also blocked in Sri Lanka. The investigators have informed the editor of one of the websites that the block could be removed if details of the story’s source were given to them. The website editor had revealed the name of DIG Vass Gunawardena.
When the investigators informed this development to the President, an order was issued to the CID to crack down on Vass Gunawardena. Since Vass Gunawardena was arrested on a direct Presidential order, the Defence Secretary has been unable to intervene. However, the Defence Secretary has ordered the CID to inquire only into Mohomad Shyam’s murder. Nevertheless, the CID has managed to uncover details of many murders carried out by Vass Gunawradena with the Defence Secretary’s knowledge.
Meanwhile, Vass Gunawardena’s wife is now publicly saying that she would reveal names of all the persons involved in the murders and the gold racket if she is arrested. Sources from the CID say that given the turn of events, there’s a great likelihood of or5ders being issued to stop the investigation.
