The Chinese government is exerting pressure to bring Mahinda Rajapkasa back to power, ‘Sathhanda’ newspaper claims.
Political affairs chief of the Chinese embassy Ren Faqiang is behind this campaign and is making arrangements for his government to fund Rajapaksa’s campaign, it says.
In the past few months, Faqiang had fabricated falsehoods in order to create divisions between president Maithripala Sirisena and prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
This Chinese diplomat also has had close connections with top government politicians.
Now, he is printing and distributing an astrology paper and a tabloid newspaper, both in Sinhala, which criticize the government and promote Rajapaksa, says the newspaper.
During the Rajapaksa regime, the Chinese government enjoyed the monopoly of all development project contracts in Sri Lanka and Rajapaksa family members had been paid massive commissions.
The Chinese companies had made the biggest bids for these projects.
The Chinese ambassador has reprimanded Faqiang and warned that this could lead to a diplomatic issue.
Faqiang has also obtained various perks from Chinese businessmen and his government has extended his tenure in Colombo to four years.
‘Sathhanda’ also reports that former president Chandrika Kumaratunga and the Indian government are in a campaign to prevent Rajapaksa from getting UPFA nominations.

Chinese embassy washes mud off Rajapaksa!

After getting involved in the major projects during the previous Rajapaksa regime, China is now directly interfering in local politics. A campaign to promote Mahinda Rajapaksa, who was rejected by a majority of the people on January 08, is underway with the mediation of the Chinese embassy, reports say. The aim is to deceive the voters, who had taken a bold decision on January 08, by bringing the ex-president before them after washing off his mud and adorning him in white.
Another campaign targets to establish that Sri Lanka has achieved considerable progress due to the aid and mega projects given by China during the Rajapaksa regime. Also, to convince the people that the present government has halted many projects which will be very bad for the country. Their objective is to discredit the incumbent president and the government and to bring Rajapaksa back to power. The Chinese embassy does not have any love for the people of this country. They want to exploit the people as much as they possibly can.
As part of this campaign, the Chinese embassy sent an SMS from the phone no. 077 6706560 on July 02 to members of the local business community and state officials, which says,
“Chinese funded projects created 100000 job opportunities to SL in the past five years. 90% workers in Chinese funded projects are Sri Lankans. Spokesperson Chen Chuan of China Chamber of Commerce at Sri Lanka told media today. Chen mentioned that for example, A9 road construction in the north hired 4500 Sri Lankan staff including 2800 Tamils, only around 50 Chinese working on the project, account for only1.5-2 % of the total. Chinese funded projects created at least 100000 direct job opportunities to SL people in the past five years and trained many Sri Lankan young people to master new technologies which not only benefit them but benefited SL’s future development. One Minister figure’s allegation of only Chinese workers lost jobs at Chinese Funded projects is totally wrong. We suggest politician check facts and figures before make remarks and stop misleading people.”
Normally, countries that extend assistance to local projects make it happen that the funding they give go back to their own countries in an indirect manner. These projects are planned in such a way that the raw material, technology and technicians are from the lending country.
This is applicable to China too, and the best case in point is the BMICH. Built 40 years ago, its maintenance is still being carried out by the Chinese companies that undertook the construction project. Therefore, China earns money even today from the BMICH, which politicians boast as being a gift from China. While doing so, China claims that it gives technical training and job opportunities for local youths.
The Chinese embassy is so getting involved in local politics because of a future objective. That is to build a political situation in this country that will enable the resumption of the halted Chinese projects and to start new ventures. The best way to bring about that situation is by bringing back to power the ex-president who had been rejected and sent home by a majority of the people on January 08. The Chinese embassy is striving to realize that objective.
The Chinese embassy’s interference of the Lankan politics is a violation of the Vienna convention, against which the government should take appropriate steps. The government should consider summoning the Chinese ambassador and questioning him.
If the ex-president is to be brought back to power, his corruption, fraud and authoritarian rule and everything else should be removed from the public mind, and instead, fill them with the development hype during the Rajapaksa regime, stir them up in order to give their votes to Mahinda Rajapaksa. That is why Rajapaksa regime’s development work is being highlighted among the business community and public servants.
In addition, China has tamed and lurd leading media institutions by way of giving them money, foreign trips etc. and using them indirectly to promote Mahinda. Especially, Killy Maharaja’s Sirasa media institution, which brought hourly news updates on the Colombo port city project is now doing the bidding of China and promoting the project. Sirasa too, is indirectly supporting the return of Mahinda Rajapaksa to power by doing what the Chinese embassy wants.

Even as Maithri continues with his double deals and double speak Mahinda signs his nominations (death warrant of the nation)

MedaMulana_GodFather_06.07.15
(Lanka-e-News- 09.July.2014, 3.30PM) As president Maithripala who created a new ignominious record as the worst betrayer ever in the history of the world beating even that of Judas , continued to brazenly exposing his political opportunism to the detriment of the people , ex president Medamulana Percy Mahendra Rajapakse who is a byword for monumental corruption ,brutality and treachery last noon signed his nominations paper as candidate for Kurunegala district.
At the auspicious time 2.38 p.m. Mahinda signed the nomination papers as revealed by ex minister C.B. Ratnayake to Lanka e News.
Meanwhile ,when Maithripala Sirisena met with the Civil Organization leaders yesterday at 8.30 in the night , he had to descend to the lowliest of levels of double deals and double crossing owing to his own most disgraceful monumental betrayal he indulged in slitting the throats of all those who toiled to make him the president , let alone the entire nation. Speaking with a forked tongue he tried to conceal the information that Mahinda signed the nominations. Maithri who is characterised by the overriding trait in him of profuse lying ( which despicable trait is by now universally known) told the anti Rajapakse crowd another lie this noon that Mahinda and Namal are contesting from Hambantota. |

There are more instances of leaders going wrong than being correct in political history in the world as well as in Sri Lanka, but what is required is to take decisions confidently without vacillating, activists who made an active contribution to the formation of the ‘Yaha Paalana’ government say commenting on the current crisis.
All of them strongly denounce the indecision of president Maithripala Sirisena, and say that his conduct since becoming the executive president is rather questionable, that is after coming forward bravely to take up the serious challenge of vying against Mahinda Rajapaksa at the last presidential election.
'
The president has told several of his close friends that the result of his decision could be seen on August 18, but he has not explained nor justified that particular decision. Even the closest of associates of the president find that very problematic.
Meanwhile, prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is due to make a special statement today (07) regarding the prevailing political situation. The two main parties will handover their nominations on Monday (13), say political sources.

Those who enthroned and worshipped you are now against you: Maithri , don’t strip tease with the rogues -Citizens Force warns (Audio)
http://54.86.146.54/news/563/en

(Lanka-e-News -07.July.2015, 9.30PM) The Citizen’s Front convening a media briefing today, warned president Maithripala Sirisena that the ‘world’ that enthroned and worshipped him has now turned bitter against him . They insisted that the president is duty bound to come forward and state his clear stance to the people, following the decision allegedly taken at the meeting chaired by him to grant nomination to ex president Mahinda Rajapakse .Otherwise it will become necessary to conclude that the president is stripping nude to collude with the rogues, the Front charged.
This press briefing that was held at the public library auditorium , Colombo by the Citizen’s force organization which forms a part of the main civil professional artistes organizations which made a great contribution to steer Maithripala to presidential victory, drew large crowds including the chiefs of the organization.
The joint convener of the Citizen’s Front , chairman of the trade unoin Federation Saman Rathnapriya at the opening session of the discussions said, with the story surfacing that Mahind has been given nomination by Maithri had sent a wave of rude shock among the people and provoked their resentment .
Rathnapriya went on to say , when that news broke out , it was like plunging the whole country into darkness during the last four days . Hence , it is the duty of the president instead of playing hide and seek giving answers through others , face the people directly and express his unequivocal stance . There is a possibility for the country being pushed to the extreme point of people losing entire faitth in Maithripala , he noted.
There is nothing to preclude Mahinda from contesting under any other party , but Maithripala who captured power after making grandiose promises of estabishing good governance cannot be allowed to bring Mahinda back to politics under any circumstance. Princes who wear Lewis Vittone shoes and Princes who provide jaunts for their fiancees by plane out of public funds are not needed in this country. In any case such individuals will be ousted by the people again even if they try to get a foothold. But , it is the duty of the president to make a clear announcement on his stance to the people within the next two or three days, Rathnapriya revealed with concern.
Gamini Veyangoda , the joint convener of the Citizens Force speaking on the occasion also said ,the preisdent should come out of his coccoon and reveal the true position to the people in this regard.
Popular dramatist K.B.Herath addressing the media said , Maithripala represents only a symbol of the power of the people that elected him on 8th Jnauary, and therefore he cannot take decisions of his own accord. This decision taken by him outside the wishes of the people should be immediately reversed .With Mahinda there are his frauds , rapists ,hooligans ,underworld members , racists and religious fanatics who he will bring in ,Herath pointed out. The evil fallouts of Mahinda’s actions are very well known, and the sinister outcome of Mahinda’s association with these evil characters is visible in our midst .Maithripala has no right to revert to such an era , Herath emphasized.
Award winning writer Jayathila Kammellaweera expressing his views revealed , Mahinda is the most power greedy individual in the whole wide world , and as long as his life last his avarice will last .Mahinda contesting under any other party is no issue , but Maithripala lending support to him is a grave issue , after making solemn pledges that he would stamp out corruption , murders and rapes in the country, which were most raging under Mahinda .
Josef Stalin , a joint convener of the Citizen’s Front cum secretary Lanka teachers association said : if Maithripala is to grant nominations to Mahinda Rajapakse , he must explain to the country right now , what he is going to say regarding the fraud that was perpetrated by Mahinda’s wife through the Sirilya fund ; Gotabaya’s ‘s Avant Garde racket ; Basil ‘s Divi Neguma fund misappropriation ; Yoshitha’s involvement in the murder of a Ruggerite : Johnston’s outrageous swindles; Sajin Vaas and Mahindananda’s monumental robberies .
The date of closing nominations is on the 13 th meaning that the president has enough time to withdraw his decision . It is therefore his choice to decide whether he is going to earn the ignominious title of betrayer of the nation before the people or announce his stance unswervingly and unequivocally , Stalin warned.
The song sung by Nanda Malini , the lyrics for which was written by Sunil Ariyaratne should be amended to read “ the very ‘world’ that enthroned and worshipped you is now arming itself against you.’ Popular liric writer Buddadasa Galappaththi remarked. He also questioned whether Mahinda became ‘clean’ to Maithri because he got into the Kataragama river and bathed for the last five months and scrubbed away his filth which he accumulated over the years .?
Award winning drama prducer and actress Kaushalya Fernando , lawyer cum journalist Janaranjana , journalist Anura Bandara Rajaguru , Cinema and stage actor Dilip Rohana also attended this media briefing.
